Tucked away among the grocery stalls on Piltover Street is the workshop of famed inventor Corin Reveck. Famous for crafting artificial limbs, Corin’s designs are amazingly beautiful and often more delicate than the original parts. His daughter, Orianna, worked as his apprentice – marketable and friendly, she was perfectly suited for running the store, and she herself gradually grew to become a talented artifact.

Orianna possesses a soul passionate about exploration, but her father, fearing for her own safety, never allows her to leave the neighborhood where they live. Instead, he often took her to theaters, where dancers, with their dance moves, told stories about distant lands. Orianna dreams of one day visiting these strange and beautiful lands, through the anthropomorphic dancers she has made with her own hands.

Information about a disaster that occurred in Zaun spread to their store. An explosion cracked the chemical pipeline, releasing clouds of toxic gas. Orianna pleaded to come down to help the victims of the incident but Corin stopped her. Zaun was too dangerous a place for her.

And then, with the maximum allowance she could carry with her, Orianna sneaked away in the darkness, taking the elevator down to the abyss below. The scene of devastation was horrific. The rubble was still scattered everywhere and Zaun residents had to step through the toxic smoke with only pieces of greasy rags to cover their faces. Night by night, Orianna returned to repair ventilators and install air filtration systems. She even gave up her gas mask to a baby who was suffocating.

Her father was furious, but shortly after her return, Orianna fell seriously ill. Her lungs were so badly damaged that there was no way to recover. Refusing to accept the truth, Corin threw himself into his most ambitious project ever: a pair of fully functional artificial lungs.

After several sleepless nights, he finally fulfilled his reckless plan, and performed the surgery on her himself. To prevent her from sneaking too far again, the lungs are attached to a special key secretly hidden by Corin.

Orianna went back to work, but the poison continued to spread throughout her body. The father and daughter were forced to work hard to develop new organs to replace her organs as they deteriorated. One by one, Orianna’s body gradually transitioned from biological to mechanical until only her healthy heart was the only thing left. Corin poured his fortune into this persistent — and expensive — process, but he saved his daughter’s life. For a moment, they used to feel happy

Gradually, Orianna begins to feel distant from her former self. Old memories are now like stories being told. Even her creativity has gradually faded as the dancer figures she loves are now complex machines, instead of works of art.

Even as the timeline seemed stagnant for Orianna, though, it slowly flowed for her father

As the years passed, Corin’s chest pain left him unable to work, and Orianna was forced to support him. She became a skilled anthropomorphic artist, even when she could no longer feel joy while remembering what inspired her work. These little dancers provided a decent income, but never enough to pay for something she believed could save her father’s life. For that, she reached out to a host in the area.

Corin wakes up to find the workshop filled with hundreds of tiny dolls. But among them was one he vowed never to sell: a yellow dancer who didn’t need to be roped, twirling in a never-ending dance.
