DIVERSE GAMEPLAY, EASY TO CUSTOMIZE
Last Epoch introduces players to 5 basic character classes: Sentinel, Mage, Primalist, Acolyte and Rogue.
Each character class owns a passive skill board (Passive Tree) that can be customized every time you level up. Active skills will be “unlocked” when you reach a certain level or when you have upgraded the required number of points in the passive board, and you will need to use Mana to execute them.
Although there is nothing new in the first moments of entering the game, it becomes the perfect “springboard” of Last Epoch to gradually introduce deep into the customization mechanism of the game.
After acquiring advanced ability, you will be able to choose one of three advanced career directions (Master Class). Each direction opens a new passive board, along with an exclusive skill.
Although there is no exclusive ability, you can still raise points to the passive table of the other two professions, however, the number of points that can be raised will be more limited.
Not only that, but the developer also makes the board passive… for proactive skills through the Specialization system.
You will be allowed to choose up to 5 skills to include in this system, thereby opening up more customization options for you to delight in “theorycraft” and create a “hegemonic” character. Skills put into Specialization will have their own level, each time you level up, they will give you points to upgrade further.
Although this mechanism is not really as aggressive as Path of Exile or Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, but it’s extremely accessible and still gives enough depth to the game.
To promote character building “experiments”, Last Epoch Unlock lots of proactive skills early on so you can try and see which one you fit best. What if you “accidentally” raised the wrong point in the passive table? With just a little gold spent, you can completely refund points very comfortably!
The skills in Specialization can also be changed easily, however, you will have to “plow” a bit to upgrade them. This is better than plowing through a new character, right?

COUNTLESS “GENUINE” FEATURES
One of the features that really makes a highlight for Last Epoch, to the writer is probably the equipment system and how to upgrade them.
Like many other ARPG games, each equipment when collected will have a different number of stats. Players can change their stats or enhance them in accordance with the player’s needs. The level of enhancement of each piece of equipment will depend on the Forging Potential they possess.
You can even “transform” a regular piece of equipment into a special piece of equipment if you have the right materials!
This is an extremely attractive mechanism, easily “stimulating” you to plow and collect a lot of materials for this.
The end-of-game activity largely revolves around Monolith of Fate, which is a standalone “timeline” that you’ll need to plow through (As Rift in Diablo 3, or Maps in Path of Exile) to reach the maximum level. Currently, there are a total of 10 Monoliths, each timeline will have many small maps inside for you to conquer.
Possessing many different rewards, however, collecting Blessings every time you complete Monolith is still the most important point here, because they bring a lot of important stats to your character.
Monolith of Fate owns relatively small maps and has a fairly thick monster density, it will only take you about 2-3 minutes to complete. You can also teleport quickly to switch between each Monolith.
Nearly all excess time spent on moving is cut by the developer, making the process of “farming, leveling up” extremely comfortable.
Near the bottom of the campaign section, Last Epoch also gives you the option to join factions, including Merchant’s Guild and Circle Of Fortune.
Merchant’s Guild allows you to open up the mechanics of trading and exchanging items between players.
The highlight probably lies in Circle Of Fortune, when assisting you in increasing the drop rate of items, as well as choosing Prophecy and completing them to get the type of equipment you want.
This mechanism makes “plowing” a lot easier, especially for those who prefer to play alone, or offline. Yes, you didn’t read it wrong, Last Epoch Support players to play offline “like a normal offline game”!
Finally, the inventory is made great! You can have as many storage boards as you want with just a small amount of gold. You can also name, record colors and group them according to your desire. It’s free and it’s easy!

LACK OF BALANCE
Although possessing a lot of potential to become a “serious competitor” for big names in the category, Last Epoch There are indeed some serious design and balance flaws.
First, the senior class that was launched later (namely Falconeer and Warlock, or before that, Runemaster) now possesses superior strength to its “seniors”.
Although the other jobs are fun and exciting, there really aren’t many people playing them just because their damage and defense numbers aren’t enough to overcome the more difficult parts of the content (Monolith Corruption 200 and above), but exceeding them is also… “Gasp” up and down!
For example, Ward is a defense mechanism in Last Epoch, similar to “virtual blood”, which is very useful in helping characters who use spells survive. However, the Runemaster with the Rune of Disintegration can easily possess 160 Wards per second when using the Disintegration skill, while the Sorcerer can only possess 160 Wards per second when using the Disintegration skill, while the Sorcerer can only possess … 5 Ward per second.
Besides, the presence of the Merchant’s Guild and the item buying and selling system does not really create much benefit for you, unless you “plow” to a very high rank to be able to exchange high-end items.
This is in stark contrast to the benefits that Circle of Fortune immediately brings from the early moments of joining, which makes the writer feel that participating in the trade is not really suitable for those who only play one or two characters per season.
Finding items in the Merchant’s Guild is also quite cumbersome and lacks detail, for example, if you want to find an item with lines and stats that match your desires, it is extremely difficult, because some lines are still … It’s not on the custom list!
Presumably, the first tiers for the Merchant’s Guild will need to be added to certain benefits to be able to counterbalance the Circle of Fortune.

MANY POINTS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Despite possessing extremely attractive gameplay, there are still “gritty” particles in Last Epoch will make players not really satisfied.
The most fatal thing to mention is the ending… It’s confusing.
Entering the game, you are immediately caught up in the war through space between the gods of Eterra, stretching over thousands of years. Initially, your task is to collect all three pieces Epoch and protect them from bad guys who are intent on taking advantage of this power.
Gradually, the plot reveals an even more terrible power that is eager to take over this world, and you will be the one to stop this from happening.
In contrast to his “big hammer” setting, the narrative of Last Epoch… Extremely raw and lacking in emotion! The character’s dialogues are written very sketchily, constantly overwhelming players with new terms and events that cannot be captured.
At this point, most players will probably choose to ignore the content and quickly enter the “map run” at the end of the game.
If you “grit your teeth” to read through each chapter of the content, you will probably see the last chapters of Last Epoch It’s interesting that players have to fly constantly between timelines to change the future for a reason.
However, until the player has a clue to end the threat of world doom… the plot ends hip-level again to introduce “Monolith of Fate”.
Although I know that not many people play ARPG games because of the content, but and such a hovering ending will make many players somewhat disappointed.
The image of the game is not really outstanding, although the graphics look beautiful, polished and colorful, but from the character design to the enemy, they do not have any highlights of their own.
The areas in the game all feel like they… Not really connected, even if you’re only moving between regions in the same era. Even in the same area, sometimes enemies and NPCs look like they’re coming from two different games, with no design consistency.
The real sound is also quite monotonous, the skill sound, the sound when fighting bosses, even the sound when dropping items, they do not bring a feeling of “wow” to the player.
Besides the balance issue, these are probably things that will need to be improved a lot to provide the best experience for players.
